Neighbourhood Priorities
Vehicle Offences
Issue Date Wednesday 20th March 2024
The team are going to continue to target vehicles across the ward, especially those that have no vehicle tax. We regularly run a specialised operation called “Operation Vouch” which involves officers carrying out high visibility foot patrols, checking vehicles for document offences. We are aware that on our area, parking can be at a premium for many residents which is then made worse by vehicles being used that may not have tax, MOT or insurance. The aim of the operation is to seize these vehicles and prosecute the owner and / or driver, thereby helping law-abiding residents by creating more space on their streets. If you would like to report a vehicle that you believe is being used without the correct documents, you can do so by emailing us.

Focussing on tackling ASB across parks in our area, engaging with young people and signposting them to community activities. We will also be tackling drug use within parks (nitrous oxide cannisters, and general drug use) in and out of vehicles in recreational areas.

Retail crime
Issue Date Wednesday 20th March 2024
Rugby Town North cover the retail parks, Elliotts Field and Junction One which we are expecting to be busier than normal during December. The team will be focusing our time to both high visibility patrols to do deter retail crime and any potential purse-dipping offences. The team will also be conducting plain clothes operations at the retail parks during this time as well. After December, the team will be focusing on preventing retail crime as well as targeting our most prolific offenders.
