The area of Cheadle Town encompasses the residential area of Hammersley Hayes estate. It has a strong community spirit and has benefited from significant investment recently.
There are large playing fields at Churchill Road and a large public recreation ground offering bowling, a skate ramp, tennis and children's play area coupled with the South Moorlands Leisure Centre. Further leisure facilities are also planned. Educationally, the area is covered by two primary and two high schools.The west of Cheadle benefits from a healthy mix of town centre businesses, industrial and residential areas.
