Neighbourhood Priorities

Youths are behaving in an Anti-social manner around the Asda at Grimethorpe damaging commercial premises and buses disrupts the service.

Our neighbourhood officers stepped up joint patrols with Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council wardens and special constables including running a 'Trojan bus' operation with officers and BMBC staff placed on the bus to detain anyone involved. There are now a total of 10 young people referred through to the Youth Offending Team for the part they played in such behaviour.

Increased police and Neighbourhood Warden patrols in the area and spoke with a number of youths. Some detained for searches and a small amount of drugs recovered prior to dispersing youths.
