Neighbourhood Priorities

Our priorities

As we move into the New Year it feels that those issues affecting local people we have been keen address over previous months need to be maintained. Some of the individuals involved in ASB and crime in our neighbourhoods need to know we are there, and we will continue to monitor and target them to reduce the likelihood of victims and keeping our community safe. To keep up the momentum, the priorities for the next three months, agreed with the portfolio holder at Gedling Borough Council, and Council colleagues will be:

• Calverton - Op Spearshaft to address ASB and associated drug dealing
• Shop lifting Netherfield & Arnold
• Arnold – Op Silverbirch re ASB and young people

Issue Date Tuesday 16th January 2024

Update on our previous priorities

Antisocial Behaviour in the Front Street, and parks, in and around Arnold

To update you on our previous priorities we have been busy working with our force and local partners to disrupt ASB in Arnold Front Street, and the parks in the town under Operation Silverbirch. We have conducted over 200 hours of high visibility reassurance patrols, whilst targeting those individuals we know have been causing harm to our community. There have been some positive arrests for individuals involved in drug dealing and we will continue to target these individuals throughout the next three months.

Antisocial Behaviour in Netherfield

Throughout the last priority period we have continued to deliver targeted patrols to locations in the Netherfield area we know we have been told the community are experiencing ASB and associated issues affecting their quality of life. We have also managed to incorporate into this, targeted patrols and interventions in the Victoria Retail Park area, to assist businesses particularly through the busy Christmas period.

Antisocial Behaviour associated with Car Cruisers – Operation Triplefin

We have continued to deliver our policing operation to address ‘Car Cruising’ in the Netherfield area, under Op Triplefin. The use of the PSPO in the area, secured by Gedling Borough Council and has continued to assist our efforts to deter people driving in an erratic and antisocial manner, often causing danger to themselves and other road users.

Action Date Tuesday 16th January 2024
