Neighbourhood Priorities

City Central Strategic Priorities: April to June 2024

Issue Date Tuesday 9th April 2024

Serious Violence

Serious violence remains a key priority, I want to ensure that people feel safe within our community. We continue to carry out extra patrols as we continue to focus on preventing violent crime particularly against women and girls and knife crime offences. We have made numerous significant arrests over the last few months.

Anti-Social Behaviour

In all forms. ASB continues to be a priority, we are working hard to combat this, the continuation of operation Brandberg (an operation to address aggressive begging) and have numerous criminal behaviour order applications pending for our persistent offenders.

Evening student patrols have continued on the busy night time economy evenings.

We have also executed numerous warrants over the last few months, which have led to key arrests and the seizure of large quantities of Class A drugs.

Acquisitive Crime: (Burglary, Robbery and Theft)

Burglaries and Personal Robberies are a concern, and we will continue to increase our patrols in the right areas to prevent such offences.

We have again made some key arrests during the last few months for burglary and Robbery and will continue to deal with offenders robustly, these offenders are dealt with by our dedicated burglary and robbery team.
