Burglary offences increased in the new year and this has been our third priority since the start of the year and have thrown everything at the problem since then, this has included increased hot spot patrols, daily targeted arrests of offenders, investigative ownership by our local CID team and crime prevention advice to victims. Road crime

Issue Date Wednesday 10th April 2024

Road crime was a priority for my team over the last three months and during this time we have focussed attention on travelling criminality leading to a number of arrests and seizures. Off road bikes continue to cause an issue for our residents and our Off Road Bike team have been focussing attention in Nuthall, Newthorpe and Awsworth. We have been working closely with land owners and have had some success in designing the problem out in these areas.

Moving forward into the Spring we will now add Shoplifting to our list of local crime priorities and will be putting plans in place to tackle all the above, and I’ll report back on progress.
