Night time economy in York City Centre
Issue Date Saturday 4th May 2024
Highly visible patrols in the Night-time Economy particularly on a weekend to prevent and detect violence and disorder, safeguard victims or potential victims. Working with partners including Door Staff, Street Rangers and Street Angels to keep everyone safe.

Targeted Patrols of Hotspot areas, dealing with offender(s) for offences, working with partners & the Youth Offending Team to create bespoke sanctions/disposals for Youths involved in ASB through the Youth Outcomes Panel escalation process.

Violence against Women and Girls (VAWG)

Project Vigilant which aims to prevent sexual violence by targeting predatory behaviour in the night-time economy. A range of re-visits/support in relation to Domestic Violence and/or abuse, intimidation or violence of any kind towards Women and Girls. Education and raising awareness via events and social media.

Residential Burglaries

Intelligence led targeted patrol of hotspot areas & targeting known offenders, raising awareness of crime prevention via revisits, social media, property marking events, assisting investigators with enquiries, target hardening address/locations to reduce the risk of people becoming victims of Burglary.
