Rogue traders / Scams
Issue Date Tuesday 23rd April 2024
Neighbourhood Policing Team visits to victims of scams or near misses to provide support and safeguarding advice. Call blockers installed and fraud volunteers assigned as cases need. We will continue this work due to reports still coming in.
Populated to Neighbourhood Watch co-ordinators and articles for inclusion in village magazines. Officers have been working with the Health Hub, and Bracebridge Heath Library along with Washingborough Methodist church have hosted a stand for them to talk about cold callers, commons scams and provide information leaflets. The most common method of fraud we're seeing is people posing as police officers.
