This neighbourhood beat covers Thorpe Astley and the Meridian Leisure and Business Parks. The area is a vastly expanding development situated close to the M1 motorway, where it borders the Braunstone estate near to Braunstone Lane.

Priority 2: Obstruction of the Highway
You Said: Vehicles parking on pavements and across driveways is of significant concern.
What we are going to do: Remove vehicles using a recovery agent as a means of enforcement. Advise members of the public where appropriate. Educate people about the effects of poor parking.

An update has been sent to the Braunstone Life around how and when police can deal with Obstruction issues. Reports of this nature have been taken around schools and these drivers will be spoken with in due course.

We have met with Braunstone Town Council at their Community Development meeting and discussed the potential for physical changes to park entrances and identifying appropriate areas for warning signage to be replaced. Further meeting with other agencies to be arranged.
