Neighbourhood Priorities

To reduce the number of cycles stolen within the Loughborough town centre area and provide advice in relation to keeping cycles secure

It is pleasing to see that more recently there has been a decrease in the number of reports of stolen cycles across the area of Loughborough

Police continue with their bike register schemes, and crime prevention advice surgeries, where members of the public can register their bike details to a national register

We will soon see many students finishing their academic term and Police and the Community safety partnership will continue to work with local residents and the student community in relation to the safety of their cycles,

Reduce Anti social behaviour reported by residents across the local area in varying formats including car cruise meetings, noisy parties

Operation Lexical will be providing additional officers on the ground in relation to any potential anti social behaviour at the end of the academic year in and around the town centre

Police are still progressing a camera for the A512 at Loughborough which will assist with the enforcement and prevention of what is termed car cruises.

It is hopeful that the camera will be in place very shortly

Police have today(19/04/24) attended Magistrates court and been granted an extension to a current closure order in the Park Road area of Loughborough.

The initial order was granted following serious incidents of anti social behaviour related to drugs

Update

I am pleased to announce that a POD camera is now situated on the A512, Loughborough. This was to assist with the anti social behaviour associated with what is termed Car cruises.
It is pleasing to state that more recently there have been no car cruise meetings

Officers continue to patrol those areas where anti social behaviour is occurring and a recent test purchase operation has taken place with a number of stores visited in and around the town centre, where young persons may have previously been supplied alcohol.

Drug related Anti social behaviour including that of drug supply and use

Police have today attended Magistrates court and been granted an extension to a current closure order in the Park Road area of Loughborough.

The initial order was granted following serious incidents of anti social behaviour related to drugs

Police are making further enquiries in relation to a further property where reports have been made of anti social behaviour which is believed to be drug related

Police are conducting patrols in and around the town centre where it is believed that persons are using or dealing drugs

A male has been arrested from a property in the town centre on suspicion of possessing drugs with an intent to supply, the investigation continues

Update

The closure order on a property in the Park Road, Loughborough area remains closed with the local Authority progressing matters through the courts for further orders

Persons have been stopped and searched in and around the town centre relating to drugs matters. Persons have been arrested for drug related matters

Police working with the local authority have issued community protection warning to two persons for their involvement in anti social behaviour in the Woodgate area

Police will be working with the local BID and speaking with local businesses as to Anti social behaviour in and around the town centre
