The Eyres Monsell neighbourhood comprises the entire Eyres Monsell Estate, together with the Saffron Lane Estate south of Southfields Drive.

It includes a large school, the Samworth Academy, and retail premises on The Exchange, Swinford Avenue, Hillsborough Road and Southfields Drive. Smaller schools are located within the Eyres Monsell Estate.

Neighbourhood Priorities

ASB – You have told us young people are displaying anti-social behaviour across the estate. Locations vary from shops to bus stops, open spaces and in the street. With the evenings being lighter for longer we will continue to try and identify those involved and take appropriate action.

Foot patrols have been carried out across Eyres Monsell and officers have been engaging with local shops and residents in relation to a group of youths who are causing a nuisance. Work is ongoing to try and identify them so they can be spoken to.

Drugs – You have told us there are concerns around drugs - taking, dealing, cuckooing and locations targeted with drug related damage. We have been, and will continue to work to disrupt and tackle those who take drugs and are involved in drug related activity. Officers will continue to build intelligence and carry out patrols. If you suspect someone is involved in such crime, please report this either to police or Crimestoppers.

Officers have been completing patrols to continue to gather intelligence in relation to drugs offences, The beat team have spoken to individuals who are known to use drugs and gathered valuable information from them.

Road safety – Now the evenings are lighter the issues with off-road bikes, mini mopeds and quadbikes are expected to rise. A patrol plan has been put in place to try and tackle the issues and we would urge you to contact us if your area is affected.

We have visited all individuals who were known to ride on off road bikes last year and have spoken to them about their behaviour and made them aware we will seize their bikes if they continue. A S59 warning notice has been issued to one individual - so if we see them on their bike, or any bike again and behaving in an anti-social manner, it will be seized.
