This large beat covers the villages of Cropston, Rothley, Swithland, Ulverscroft, Thurcaston, Newtown Linford Woodhouse, Woodhouse Eaves and Quorn.

The beat has a mix of village and rural communities and includes popular tourist attractions such as Bradgate Park, Beacon Hill and the Great Central Railway to name but a few.

The villages are mainly residential and the beat is also home to large swathes of the Charnwood Forest.

The beat team will engage with the community providing crime prevention advice, encourage the use of security measures to make properties more secure. Attending reports of burglaries to secure any evidence and pursue reasonable lines of enquiry to identify any offender aiming to reduce burglaries in Charnwood west villages

Burglary patrols are happening daily. Officers have been on foot patrol in the evenings. We have had a Neighbourhood meeting at Mountsorrel Memorial centre on the 22/04/24 and provided crime prevention advice on Burglary, ASB and Fraud, handed out leaflets, and window alarms, more will follow across other villages in due course.

During May our team have continued to completed multiple high visibility patrols burglary patrols across the beat both in the day and at night, on foot and in vehicles. We have visited victims, provided crime prevention advice on Burglary, ASB and Fraud, handed out leaflets, and window alarms.

Across the beat we have dealt with multiple ASB incidents. This has resulted in words of advice and warning letters being given, as well as this behaviour contracts have been handed out. We have been and will continue to patrol the area and do our best to deter this kind of behaviour and make sure everyone is behaving in appropriate manners.
