Off Road Motorcycles

Issue Date Friday 19th January 2024

Patrols covering the Wolds ward area are aware of the current hotspots and are regularly patrolling these areas.

Regular contact is made with the Wolds villages to update them on police actions, especially in regard to Op Yellowfin.

Officers will continue to patrol hotspot areas in the hope of deterring and disrupting further incidents, and keep in contact with local councillors for the area who may themselves have more information from the public that will be able to help us. We will engage with the public, including carrying out Humber Talking in the area to see if the public can assist us with any information into who is responsible.

Should any suspects be identified/bikes stopped, positive action will be taken by using police powers to seize motorcycles and take action against those riding illegally. If any member of the community has any information about where the bikes are being stored, or who is involved, then please do report via 101 or contact your local team in strict confidence. We are grateful for information we have already received which has already allowed us to take appropriate action against offenders.

Your local officers are working alongside their Fire Service colleagues using their drone to identify offenders and direct officers to the riders locations. The drone has been used to great effect, helping in the seizure of illegal motorbikes and prosecution of offenders over recent weeks.

Rural Crime

Issue Date Friday 19th January 2024

This relates to a broad range of issues including burglary and theft, damage to crops, gates and fencing caused by off road vehicles involved in poaching and vehicle anti-social behaviour such as off road motorbiking. Your local officers regularly meet with their Lincolnshire Police counterparts, as well as local farmers, and carry out patrols to disrupt, identify and deal proactively with those involved in such behaviour. Although recent activity has dropped, as we come out of lockdown rural crime will undoubtedly become an issue again.
