Neighbourhood Priorities

Motorbike related crimes or inappropriate use

Issue Date Wednesday 1st November 2023

Anti-social motorbikes and the associated criminality linked to this has been a problem blighting the south ward community for some time.

We are fully aware of the distress this can cause for the community and this is at the forefront of our neighbourhood policing teams actions.

This issue is being tackled through our Operation Yellowfin. The local policing team along with our colleagues at Humberside Fire and Rescue work closely together to bring those causing the most harm to our community to justice. We work with the Fire and Rescue team to operate a drone which provides us valuable intelligence and evidence to prosecute those offending.

However, as we look to continually deliver result, your intelligence and feedback is vital.

Information can be passed through the following channels 101 or CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111 (this can be done anonymously), this in turn will allow us to tackle those individuals affecting your area. We will be conducting Humber Talking across the ward for you to raise your concerns. But feel free to pull us for a chat if you see us out and about.

Targeting of priority ASB offenders

Issue Date Tuesday 1st November 2022

From our high visibility patrols and information shared from the public, we have identified numerous youths involved in ASB associated problems on the South Ward.

Our main priority is to steer those youths away from criminality onto positive life choices. This is achieved through engaging with our partner agencies, working with schools and visiting parents/carers where appropriate.

Where these youths continue down the path of criminality, we will look to take appropriate measures.
