The Safer Neighbourhood Team for the Privett and Alverstoke Neighbourhood area is currently made up a Sergeant, Police Constables and Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs).

The East Neighbourhood has a very diverse demographic, from the more affluent area of Alverstoke to the more deprived area of Leesland. The Leesland ward features within the list of most deprived areas of the country. The current estimated population is around 18,096 with the number of households estimated at 7816.

The neighbourhood attracts many visitors mainly to the Stokes Bay area which is a picturesque stretch of coastline well supported by hotels, cafes and restaurants. This area can become particularly busy during the summer months with sporadic incidents of anti social behaviour reported. The area also has many large areas of park land which are also well attended by the community which again and lead to issues necessitating police attention.
