Neighbourhood Priorities
Tackling Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) including Vehicle Related ASB.     Our most recent NPT Priority Survey results continue to indicate that ASB is within the top three priority for the communities. We know that ASB adversely affects people who live within our communities and the team will continue to work in collaboration with our partners to explore possible solutions, in tackling ASB within our communities.
With the help of our communities, we will identify vulnerable people who may be susceptible to becoming a victim of ASB and this will help to us to inform, reassure and signpost them for the appropriate support. We will also target ASB hot spots and offenders, utilising ASB legislation and tools at our disposal. We are aware of ASB concerns in Sturminster Newton and Stalbridge. We will continue to patrol these areas, working with our external partners and also partners within the police, for example Community Speed Watch and Roads Policing.

Issue Date Sunday 1st October 2023

Tackling Acquisitive Crime and Burglaries.       Our current Burglary figures are low, however it remains a top three answer on our NPT Priority Surveys. Therefore we will continue to tackle acquisitive crime and identify any crime series that may arise in the coming weeks, as we enter into the Autumn and Winter months.
To help reduce the perception of crime within this field, we will ensure we communicate effective crime prevention advice and also highlight police enforcement through the use of Social Media, as well as working with local drug and alcohol teams to try and divert and prevent persons from turning to crime. We will also hold regular engagement opportunities where our communities can attend and learn more about burglary crime prevention.  We will also work with our Rural Crime Team to offer advice and education at engagement opportunities. We regularly work together to tackle rural crime and this will continue towards this priority.

Issue Date Sunday 1st October 2023

Tackling Drug Dealing in the community   We will proactively target organised drug supply by developing and acting on community intelligence.
Our enforcement will be focused on the incidents that impact the most vulnerable.
We will carry out regular safe and well checks on vulnerable members of the community, in conjunction with partner agencies and our colleagues in other Police teams. As part of this we will signpost vulnerable victims to our partner agencies and services that can offer help, support and advice.

Issue Date Saturday 1st April 2023
