Neighbourhood Priorities

1: Nuisance drinking/ drug use and begging across the ward
2: Sex workers and the exploitation of vulnerable people. Anti social behaviour that is associated with this.
3: E-scooter usage

Issue Date Monday 10th June 2024

1: Working in conjunction with various Derby City Council departments to enforce a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO), issuing fixed penalty notices and Community Protection warnings to regular offenders. The PSPO allows officers to disperse persons engaging in anti social behaviour and issue Fixed penalty notices for acts such as littering, begging, loitering and drinking. Working with intervention partners to try and assist in preventing further issues with prolific offenders and supporting their welfare.
2: A problem management plan has been implemented to disrupt and deter those involved in public sex work. Assisting in helping those being exploited with intervention partners and agencies. Proactive, partnership work is regularly carried out using a variety of tactics. Exploring additional options to disrupt the additional anti social behaviour that comes with it; public order, littering, nuisance vehicles etc.
3: A problem management plan has been created to focus on the users of the, currently, illegal E-scooters. E-scooters can only be used on private land and a wide range of users ride them including school children and adults. Education and enforcement is planned to try and reduce the usage of these vehicles.
