This Safer Neighbourhood area covers the Derwent area and Oakwood. It belongs to the Derby North policing section.

Derwent is situated just north of Derby city centre. Sussex Circus is encompassed in the centre of Derwent and houses one of the shopping precincts. Oakwood is one of the largest private housing estates in Europe, having a leisure centre, a wooded common area and a shopping precinct (Oakwood District Centre) within its boundaries.

1. High visibility and plain clothes patrols in hot spot locations. Regularly review crime trend information and intelligence to identify hot spot locations and potential suspects. Crime prevention advice to be issued through events and via social media and Derbyshire Alert whilst using these channels to keep the community updated.
2. High visibility patrols to be conducted, review of intelligence and crime trends to plan patrols and enforce. Crime prevention events to be held along with the use of social media and Derbyshire Alert
3. In order to combat anti-social behaviour in the community we will work with partner agencies in order to issue where appropriate Community Protection Warnings / Notices and Criminal Behaviour Orders. Gathering of community intelligence through high visibility patrols and regular engagement.
