Issue Date Wednesday 3rd July 2024

1. Drugs/drug dealing We’ve received intelligence from members of the local community of drug dealing and suspicious activity involving drugs in and around chapel. We see this as an extremely important priority. We have increased hi visibility patrolling both in marked and unmarked police vehicles and on foot to help be more of a presence in the local area and catch individuals. As well as using police databases in order to see where exactly this activity is taking place.
2. ASB When engaging with the local community we have received reports of anti-social behaviour around the Rowton grange area and war memorial park, kids have been entering the abandoned house, we have caught these individuals in the act and dealt with them accordingly, to further stop this and any other anti-social behaviour we have massively increased on foot, high visibility patrolling in your local area and reviewed Derbyshire alert surveys to identify which areas are targeted the worst. This has seen ASB in Chapel decrease significantly over the last couple of months, we will continue this effort to make chapel as safer place for everybody.
3. Speeding Motorists and dirt bikes The local Safer Neighbourhood Team, along with members of the local community have carried out speed watch engagements at established locations along various roads throughout Chapel and Chinley to help clamp down on speeding. More are planned in the coming months; we are also looking to recruit more volunteers to help with the Community Speed watches. We are also clamping down on vehicles which are involved in criminal behaviour and driving around with no insurance etc .we have been conducting car stop operations to further reinforce our commitment to making the roads of chapel safe.
