1 SHOP THEFTS AND BURGLARY
2 SPEEDING AND ROAD SAFETY
3 PARKING

Issue Date Monday 8th April 2024

1. We are looking at different approaches to tackle these issues such as on the week of the 18th of March 2024. It was retail crime initiative week: this meant the local Safer Neighbourhood Team increased their targeted patrols and liaised with local shops, providing them with shoplifting packs to make reporting easier. Under-age vaping is also a hot topic, so we are working with trading standards in relation to stopping the selling of vapes to underage children. We are also supporting crime prevention events such as property marking and burglary follow-ups to stop repeat victims.
2. This is always going to be an on-going concern due to the nature of the roads in this beautiful rural location. With the support of response and traffic officers we will do our best to address the problem by doing speed checks and will also look at doing Safe Drive events over the next few months.
3. Since Covid the area has become extremely popular and the roads are extremely busy. We are currently working with Highways Matlock to form a long-term solution to resolve a few of these issues. The Civil Parking Enforcement Team from the council do attend the troubled areas and issue tickets if the advice given by our teams has failed.
