Neighbourhood Priorities

Begging and the associated anti-social behaviour continues to be an issue on Gloucester Road outside of the larger shops.

The team engage with people begging on a daily basis.
We work in partnership with our Streetwise Team in order to combat this and signpost the individuals towards organisations that can offer them help.
2 persistent beggars now have Community Protection Notices granted against them which gives further police powers to deal with them.

Sheds and garages are being broken into by burglars with bikes being the target.

Prohibited items, mainly drugs and mobile phone, are being thrown over the walls of HMP Bristol for use by the residents of the prison

Problem solving meetings are ongoing between the police and the prison.
Patrols have been increased at the times of day when the offences are being committed. A male was arrested and charged in September.
The Neighbourhood team are engaging with the local residents to encourage suspicious activity to be called in to the police
