Neighbourhood Priorities

We recognise the impact that Anti-Social Behaviour has on residents, businesses and visitors to Bath, especially in such a busy, central area. We are working to tackle the short term rise in these incidents and towards a long term problem solving solution.

- Increasing patrols at key times, using data to inform our patrol plans.

- A joint approach. Working with Southgate Management, Bath BID, B&NES, Youth Connect South West and local businesses.

- Continuing our unpredictable Project Servator deployments.

- Identifying and prosecuting key offenders.

- Please report Anti-Social Behaviour to us online or via 101. You can also use the StreetSafe Tool to report places where you feel unsafe. In an emergency always call 999.

Working on tackling both an immediate rise in ASB in the Kingsmead Square area and problem solving long term issues.

• A data driven approach, identifying specific locations, times, days, and behaviours. Using this information to created frequent and informed patrol plans.

• Use of our Mobile Police Station to be parked in Kingsmead Square. This allows officers to parade from location. Creating both an increased presence in the area and more opportunity for members of our community to come and engage with us.

•A joint agency approach. Working with a number of partners, including but limited to; Bath City Council, Bath BID, Bath CCTV, Julian House + DHI, and local businesses and residents of the area.

•Engaging with local businesses and residents to recognize the impact local ASB is having on them.

Additional daytime and evening Hi-Vis patrols have remained ongoing thanks to Home Office funding.
New planters installed outside Sainsburys have reduced Anti Social Behaviour that was being caused by rough sleepers.
A further in-person survey was conducted by PCSOs. Residents and businesses again reported seeing a reduction in Anti Social Behaviour recently and compared to this time last year.

Working on identifying and supporting vulnerable persons within our community who may be at risk of exploitation.

• Helping people access support services they may want or need.

• Frequent visits to check on the welfare of vulnerable individuals at home, ensuring it is safe and secure, and to address Anti-Social behaviour (ASB) caused by visitors that may be affecting the neighbouring households.

• Working with partner agencies to create a support network, to better protect vulnerable individuals

Achieving both the safeguarding the individual, and lowering ASB & criminal activity in our communities.

The Neighbourhood Team remains committed to safeguarding the vulnerable in our community.
Door knocks are still taking place at addresses at risk of being taken advantage of by drug dealers and users.

Officers attending Night-Time Economy venues to check the conditions of their licence are being met and working with businesses to ensure the safety of our communities.

• Ensuring staff are challenging customer on their age. Preventing sale of alcohol to underage patrons.

• Working with venues to identify and tackle drug use. Including surface swabbing for drug traces and hand swabs as condition of entry.

• Providing advice on identifying victims of spiking and how to safeguard them.

• Ensuring capacity isn't being breached.

• Frequent patrols around the area of night time venues to reduce ASB and violent crime both inside and outside of premises.

All with the goal of protecting both the businesses and people of bath's safety during the Night Economy hours.

Working with our Safer Streets partner, Bath BID, we have helped launch the new ‘Bath Safe Bus’, which will provide a safe space for anyone that becomes vulnerable in the City Centre and help reduce demand on emergency services.
