This Safer Neighbourhood area covers Matlock and Riber. It belongs to the Derbyshire Dales Local Policing Unit. Matlock, dominated by the sight of Riber Castle, is located 20 miles north of Derby and has the River Derwent flowing through its centre. The neighbourhood extends to cover the nearby villages of Tansley and Starkholmes. In the 1800s, Matlock developed as a popular tourist area with guest houses and hotels emerging.

2. ASB - High Visibility patrols and engagements across the areas. A mixture of high visibility and plain clothes patrols in hot spot locations. Work with the community and partner agencies to identify offenders. Regularly review crime trend information and intelligence to identify hot spot locations and potential suspects
