This Safer Neighbourhood area covers Clay Cross town and Danesmoor, and Woodthorpe Grange from Wingerworth. It belongs to the North East Local Policing Unit.

Clay Cross is a small town with three distinct settlements of population, Danesmoor, Holmgate and Clay Lane, which are linked by a common retail area and social facilities adjacent to the A61 road.

1. Burglary.
2. Anti-Social behaviour: Hotspot areas including Tesco, Market Street and High Street.

1. SNT will engage with local businesses, partner agencies and local council to offer crime prevention advice. High Visibility patrols in areas with burglary issues and SNT will change shifts to accommodate patrols at key times.
2. High Visibility patrols in ASB Hotspot areas also linked to Op Shango for the hotspot patrols around Tesco, Market Street and High Street. Engagement with youth groups associating in these areas and SNT will work with the local schools to educate children regarding the effects of Anti-Social behaviour. School talks arranged by SNT up to the end of term.
