- Picnic in the park in WARDEN PARK 0900-1200. PCSO 7010 and PCSO 7004 attended the event there were a lot of children and people around about 200.
Children and Parents really enjoyed this event specially the police van.

01/06/24 -PC 300 / PC 716 - Attended BROWN BOOKDS LTD and hosted a coffee morning with the local residents providing them with a safe and familiar environment for them to raise any issues they may have or questions they would like to ask. Around 15 people attended all who live in the local area apart from one. There was a number of issues raised with drug users using dark shielded locations across the paths estates to use their drugs however there was a lot of positive feedback from residents regarding how the number of sex workers and drug users have dramatically reduced following on from regular police patrols and police presences.
There were some concerns raised for some residents in regards to cuckooing so we have attended the locations and made all necessary referrals and spoken with the council. Other things bought to our attention was the fly tipping, rubbish and drug paraphernalia that has gathered on VILLA ROAD. Council contacted with request for this to be cleared.

27/04/24 - 0900 - 1100hrs Attended High Town community centre for a coffee morning a number of people who attended were residents from HIGH TOWN, some people were from surrounding areas such as LIMBURY, MARSH FARM & STOSPLEY. One of the main issues raised was speeding on COLIN RD and vehicle interference.
1300 - 1330hrs PC300 attended Seventh Day Church on NORTH ST.

21/02/2024 -PC 300 Attended HIGH TOWN RESIDENTS MEETING. Residents stated that the biggest issue they are finding is the drug use and selling in the area and before anything else this is what is important for them to be tackled and focused on.

We have been running OP OCTANS where we have increased patrols in the area of High Town, safeguarding vulnerable victims and dealing with perpetrators of sexual exploitation. As part of this, we have held several meetings with LBC and the Neighbourhood Enforcement Team. We have also attended the drop-in sessions at Azalea.

Between 03/05/2022 – 25/05/2022 we have provided safeguarding advice to vulnerable individuals as part of OP OCTANS, arrested 3 persons, conducted 3 stop searches , submitted 13 intelligence reports, given 5 community resolutions and dealt with 1 Traffic related offence including seizure of the vehicle.

From May to July 2022 funding was authorised which allowed police officers to work overtime to patrol High Town and tackle the issues of the on-street sex trade. During those months, we protected several vulnerable females from sexual exploitation and referred them to services where they could receive extra support. We also cracked down on curb-crawler and enforcement was made in relation to warning letters being issues and community resolutions. We also dealt with road traffic offences and drug offences whilst on the operations.

We are currently looking into getting grants for further funding.

27/09/2022 PC350 & PC5023 conducted 2 hours foot beat around THE PATHS ESTATE this afternoon, talking to residents.
Residents workshop has been organised for 10/11/2022 1800-2000.

09/10/2022 PC350 and PC5023 conducted 45 mins foot beat around THE PATHS ESTATE and WENLOCK STREET, 1 female spoken to all in order, no issues and safeguarding given.

10/11/22 A residents meeting was held in High Town for OP OCTANS for residents to share their experiences of the on-street sex trade happening in the local area, and to discuss how to find a collaborative approach to reduce the impact on residents and protect the women involved run by DCI DOUNAIS.

19/05/2023- Operation Octans was being conducted throughout the evening until 0200hours. This was a variety of marked vehicle, unmarked vehicle patrol, foot patrol throughout HIGH TOWN.
